Meet the JLYSL-PCA Committee
Click here to find out what our Positive Coaching (PCA) program is all about. (This may take a few moments to load.) Jack London’s Positive Coaching Committee is made up of volunteer representatives from each of our 8 member Clubs.

Meet the Team:
Kimberly Guillen (Montclair Soccer Club) – Kimberly Guillen has worked on the PCA program for our League since 2001. In 2004 Kimberly worked with her club to pilot New Parents Night, an orientation for U8 parents that includes a PCA workshop. Kimberly is ready to pass the baton for her Club to another volunteer. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact Kimberly (kim@trove.com).

Paul Justison (Bay Oaks) – In addition to representing the Bay Oaks club on the JLYSL-PCA Committee, Paul independently sought out certification to become a PCA trainer. As a result, we have a special arrangement with the PCA for Paul to deliver PCA workshops to us at a reduced fee. In the last 2 years Paul has delivered over a dozen workshops. We’ve received extremely positive feedback from parents who’ve attended Paul’s workshops. After four years of pioneering positive coaching for Bay Oaks, Paul is retiring from the PCA Committee. Bay Oaks needs a PCA Committee member. If you are interested in volunteering to represent Bay Oaks, contact Steve Hollis (hollisbayoaks@comcast.net).

Lance Fong (Piedmont Soccer Club) – After three years of leadership work on the PCA Committee on behalf of PSC, Lance is hanging up his PCA Committee hat. Through Lance’s efforts, PSC sponsored and organized many PCA workshops, obtaining significant participation in the PCA program by PSC parents and coaches.

Rick Smith (Piedmont Soccer Club) – Rick is new to the Committee, in replacement of Lance Fong. He brings fresh energy to the Committee.

John Platt (Alameda Soccer Club) – Reliable and constant, John has worked on the PCA Committee for the last 3 years. John is a veteran coach. This past summer John spearheaded having a PCA workshop as part of ASC’s annual coaches meeting, obtaining significant participation in the program by Alameda’s coaches.

Bob Rollins (Rockridge Soccer Club) – Bob joined the JLYSL-PCA Committee last year and has infused the program with much needed new energy. Bob coaches two sports, and his background as a teacher is extremely helpful to our efforts. Bob represents Rockridge, our largest Club.

Marty Fazzler (Rockridge Soccer Club) – Marty Fazzler works with Bob Rollins to represent Rockridge, our largest Club.

Jeff Hall (Oakland Soccer Club) – Jeff Hall came on board with the PCA Committee last year. Jeff helped organize a PCA workshop to reach OSC teams in Fall 2005. Jeff brings fresh energy to the PCA Committee.

Deborah Middleton (Grass Valley Soccer Club) – Deborah joined the PCA Committee in 2005. Deborah represents one of our smaller Clubs. We look forward to her input on how to make the Positive Coaching program more accessible.

Ken Gibson (Montclair Soccer Club) – Ken Gibson worked on the PCA program for our League since 2001. He retired from the Committee in 2003 to focus on starting up the new West Oakland Soccer Club. Ken tirelessly pioneered the our Positive Coaching (PCA) program, and was a driving force in the program's inception.
